Welcome to our Parish

“We’re an Anglican community passionate about exploring spirituality, engaging with our local community, and building a welcoming and inclusive church. Get to know a little about us by browsing through this website. We’d be delighted to meet you at our Sunday Eucharist.” Fr Olaf

Fr Olaf has written a reflection on the spirituality of welcome and inclusion, visible at St Michael’s, entitled Jesus With Open Arms.

Date Claimer - Silent Movie Night

Friday 8th August, in the back of the church, with live musical accompaniment! More details to follow.

Soiree

Well over 100 guests enjoyed the music, wine, cheese, and ambience of our Soiree on the evening of Friday 23 March. Jazz, swing, Barbershop, flute and pipe organ artists all featured. Proceeds from the night will go to towards Rural Aid, a charity supporting flood affected residents of south-west Queensland that our Archbishop Jeremy asked us to forward funds to.

Labyrinth Garden Progress

Our Labyrinth Garden project is taking shape! Recent rain has given our fence climber and native shrub plantings a boost. We’ve also positioned 40cm square terracotta tiles to indicate the future labyrinth’s positioning and path (see photos). Next steps will include leveling the labyrinth pathway, securing the labyrinth pavers and further native planting to fill out the space.

Holy Week ‘In the Round’

This year for Holy Week, we re-positioned our new chairs in a circle on the polished concrete floor surrounding the portable altar. This helped us encounter Jesus afresh: amongst the misguided crowds of Palm Sunday; with the disciples at the Last Supper and foot washing of Maundy Thursday; at the foot of the cross on Good Friday (see photos 1-3); in the darkness of the Easter Saturday Vigil (photos 4 & 5); and at the empty tomb on Easter Day (photo 6).
